Help with ordering publications

The Bernard van Leer Foundation exists, in part, to share knowledge about early childhood development. That's why we make our publications freely available to practitioners, policy-makers and the general public. You can download pdfs, and you can also ask us to send you up to five printed copies at a time.

Use the links on the left of the page to browse or search our publications catalogue. When viewing your search results, click on "Show details" to learn more about a publication. If a pdf is available, you'll see a "download" link. This opens the pdf file in a new browser window. If we have paper copies in stock, you'll see a link that says "add to basket".

Clicking on the "add to basket" link will cause a virtual shopping basket to appear in the right column of your screen. It works in a similar way to most online shopping sites, except you don't need to pay. You can add up to five publications to this basket and we will send them to you free of charge.

The reason we impose a limit of five copies is to prevent abuse and keep our postage costs under control. If you would like to receive more than a total of five copies of our publications, please email us and we'll be happy to discuss your particular requirements.

Once you have added to your basket all the publications you would like to order, click "place your order". If you have not already done so, at this point you will be prompted to create a user name and password and to give us your name, postal address and email address. We need your postal address to send the publications, and your email to send you an order confirmation. We respect your privacy.

By creating a user name and password, you enable us to store your address details so you don't have to re-enter them when you want to order more publications in future. You can also ask this website to remember your computer for future visits.

After giving us your details you'll be taken to a checkout page to confirm your address details and which publications you'd like us to send you. After finalising your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with a identification number. We will despatch your publications as soon as possible - if they have not arrived within a reasonable time, please email us and quote this reference number.

If you are interested in a publication which is neither in stock nor available for download, please email us - we may be able to make a photocopy for you.
