Crianças: Sujeitos de Direitos
Since: 2004
Region: Rio do Janeiro
Objective: To contribute to the integral development of children, through actions that reduce the level of domestic violence and eradicate physical punishment.
In this new project, comparative research will be carried out on the cost-effectiveness and impact of a programme to reduce the violence common in childrearing and educational practices in three poor communities of Rio de Janeiro. The programme will promote non-violent approaches to parents and other child caretakers, through training and a participatory campaign at community level. An evaluation of any changes within the families and the cost-effectiveness of the intervention will be used to influence public policies.
