Projeto Cuidar e Educar

Objective: To consolidate and expand the multi-municipal management model of ECD services to 0 to 5 year old children and their families in the rural context.

The Cuidar e Educar project is aimed at children aged 0 to 5 years growing up in poor rural communities in Northeast Brazil. It aims to develop a basic curriculum for early childhood development that is innovative and effective because it benefits from the coordination of different sectors of public service providers/agencies, and cooperation between the two municipalities. Key elements in the curriculum include specially created games and toys; and its effectiveness will be reinforced through programmes of family support.
