Wona Sanana Project

Region: Nampula, Zambezia and Gaza, Mozambique

Objective: To create, improve and disseminate innovative initiatives that contribute to improving the way children’s issues are addressed in Mozambique, with specific emphasis on child rights, child participation and valuing local knowledge and community strengths.

Wona Sanana will promote the large scale use of materials and methodologies already developed. Active learning materials will be introduced in 40 schools and an agreement will be signed with the Ministries of Education and Social Action. Some local organisations will receive training and supervision in the use of the participatory methodology to analyse the situation of children at the community level.

Wona Sanana will also continue to develop new materials for active learning and prepare training materials and provide training to local organisations on the provision of adequate psycho-social support to children affected by HIV/AIDS.
